The interactive workshops aim to facilitate the necessary lessons and allow adequate opportunities to dialogue and build trust as women would come from different backgrounds to learn from each other and share experiences.
The UN Security Council unanimously adopted Resolution 1325 (UNSC 1325), in October 2000. The resolution, by universally acknowledging the role women can play in peacemaking, highlighted the disproportionate and unique impact of armed conflict on women and girls. It also reaffirms the essential role played by women in conflict prevention, conflict resolution and peace-building. In the past 22 years, nine additional resolutions were adopted by the UNSC on Women, Peace and Security (WPS), now being championed by all member states.
